VISTA, Cal., October 10, 2014 – Vista, CA – Sandel Avionics, Inc., the global leader in wire, terrain, and obstacles alerting technology for helicopters, today announced it has received European Technical Standard Order (ETSO) Authorization from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) for its Sandel ST3400H HeliTAWS®.
Sandel HeliTAWS meets all requirements specified in the EASA’s ETSO-C113―Airborne Multipurpose Electronic Displays, ETSO-C194―Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning System (HTAWS), ETSO-2C87―Airborne Low-Range Radio Altimeter (INC), and ETSO-C118―Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS-I) (INC).

HeliTAWS is a 3-ATI self-contained, high-performance HTAWS. Its proprietary alerting technology, TruAlert, enables pilots to take off, cruise, hover and land at off-airport locations without triggering nuisance alerts.
