Sandel's Top Selling Product in the U.S. Receives Certification from Germany's Luftfahrt-Bundesamt

Vista, California – March 17, 2000 – Sandel Avionics LLC has received certification from Germany’s Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA) for its SN3308 series of Electronic HSI’s. Under authorization number LBA.N-O.10.986/01 JTSO, the SN3308 is now approved for import and installation in participating countries which recognize this stringent certification process. The SN3308 series is also approved under TSO 113b and is the top selling EFIS in the industry. The Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA), which recently released its annual report of Avionics retrofit sales, listed the Sandel SN3308 as having over 79% of the EFIS market share. “We appreciate the pilot enthusiasm our product has received and are proud that this certification milestone will bring our product to more European customers,” said Gerry Block, president and CEO of Sandel Avionics.

The SN3308 ColorMapä combines the functions of an HSI, RMI, Marker Beacon and GPS annunciators, moving map, and more, all on a brilliant color display. Using new display technology, the 3” instrument provides a practical viewing area that equals larger and more expensive 4” EFIS systems.
