NewsSandel Brings Functionality To A New EHSI Product LineVista, CA (July 27, 2004)-Sandel Avionics has expanded its innovative compact display technology to include a new series of EHSI instruments, offering a range of self-contained navigation and safety displays for retrofit and OEM applications. In addition to its highly successful ST3400 TAWS/RMI system, which offers full FAA compliance for Class A or Class B operations in a stand-alone, one-box system that's compatible with virtually all analog and digital aircraft types, the company has now introduced its new ST3500 line of upgradable EHSI products, which provides enhanced situational awareness through a unique combination of navigation and safety capabilities. All the company's products now feature Sandel's third-generation, ultra-wide-viewing angle display, along with an advanced, all-in-one packaging concept that delivers unprecedented capability in a self-contained 3-ATI form factor. The ST3400 TAWS/RMI, the most cost-effective TAWS solution available, features a full-time terrain display and exceeds the minimum requirements for FAA Class B compliance. The ST3500 series, which is certifiable as a primary flight display, includes four products: A basic ST3500 Nav unit that also supports traffic and limited weather inputs; the SN3500T, which adds FAA-certified Class C TAWS; the SN3500W, with Nav and an advanced interface to WSI datalink weather; and the SN3500TW, which provides all Nav and safety functions. "Our goal is to offer an advanced alternative to the expensive, highly integrated systems that simply don't fit the needs of many operators," said Gerry Block, Sandel's president. "With our bright, sunlight-readable display and compact size, we can provide an unprecedented degree of application flexibility to operators who want-or need-to upgrade their flight decks with the latest navigation and safety functions, with high-reliability systems that are both affordable to purchase and easy to install." |
