Sandel Boosts Production to Meet TAWS Demand

Las Vegas, NV (October 12, 2004)-As the FAA TAWS mandate deadline of March 29, 2005 nears and aircraft operators seek compliance, Sandel Avionics has expanded its production capacity to meet the increased demand for its popular ST3400 TAWS. Installed on more than 30 turbine aircraft models, the stand-alone ST3400 has become extremely popular with corporate operators, regional airlines, aftermarket dealerships and OEM service centers for its compact size, ease of installation and impressive overall value. STCs have recently been issued for the Challenger 600/601/604, and certification is in progress for a number of other turbine aircraft types, notably the Gulfstream I, II and III, Beechjet 400, Jetstream 31 and 32, Embraer 120, Airbus A300 and Boeing 727.

In addition to its strong acceptance in the corporate market, the Sandel ST3400 TAWS has been winning contracts from operators of large air transport aircraft, including Centurion Cargo for its fleet of DC-10s and Atlas Air Cargo for its fleet of Boeing 747 aircraft.

"The versatility of the ST3400 has made it the perfect fit for aircraft ranging in size from King Airs and Citations all the way up to the 747," said Gerry Block, President and CEO of Sandel.

A 3-ATI sized unit that incorporates a TAWS computer and a full-color display, the ST3400 meets TSO C151b for both Class A and Class B requirements. The ST3400 serves as a drop-in replacement for conventional RMI units, displaying terrain maps, topographic maps, navigation waypoint maps and TCAS data. The base ST3400 has a list price of $34,500 in Class A configuration and $20,950 in Class B configuration. Sandel Avionics will be at Booth 9343 at the NBAA Convention in Las Vegas, NV, where show visitors can learn more about the ST3400 and the rest of the Sandel product line.
