NewsAdvanced Sandel SN4500 EHSI Earns FAA Part 25 STCNew certification provides for retrofit installation and operation of the advanced SN4500 in corporate jet aircraftVista, CA, (November 1, 2006) -- Sandel Avionics today announced it has received an FAA Part 25 supplemental type certification (STC) for its SN4500 EHSI, ST01930LA for the Cessna Citation S550 Series, enabling the new TSO'd system to be installed in corporate jet aircraft. Ideal for retrofit installation in such aircraft as Cessna Citations, Lear 20-series and other jets with 4-ATI or 5-ATI panel displays, the new SN4500 offers significant advantages over older EFIS and electromechanical HSI displays. Under the guidelines found in the FAA's Flight Standards Information Bulletin (FSAW) 95-09E the modular, LED-backlighted SN4500 may now be installed by authorized Sandel dealers and installation centers in all qualifying turbine- and piston-powered aircraft. Dealer orders are currently being accepted for SN4500 production units. "This Part 25 STC confirms that corporate jet operators will no longer be forced to choose between unreliable old-technology electromechanical displays or prohibitively expensive, full-panel conversions," said Sandel CEO Gerry Block. "With its high resolution, 200 pixels per inch vs. the 'glass cockpit' standard of 100, and its high reliability-10,000+ hours MTBF-the SN4500 is truly the new standard in turbine avionics retrofit." Featuring Sandel's SmartLightT display technology, the new LED (light-emitting diode)-backlighted SN4500 EHSI offers aircraft operators an affordable, easy-to-install aftermarket upgrade. With brilliant image quality, long operating lifetime and a safe, environmentally friendly light source, this new corporate-class system makes flying easier, safer and more enjoyable. Its outstanding performance benefits, including a full complement of NAV and safety sensor inputs, and its intuitive interface, make the SN4500 easy to use, and its SandelSmartT I/O makes it an ideal replacement display for a wide range of digital and analog aircraft. The introductory retail price is $19,500. Sandel Avionics, located in Vista, California, is a privately held company that provides compact integrated display systems for general aviation, business aviation, air transport and regional aircraft. Recent successes include the company's best-selling, turbine-class ST3400 TAWS. Additional information can be found at www.sandel.com. |
