Sandel Receives TSO for SN3500, Sets Deliveries for Late May

Vista, CA (April 27, 2005) -- Sandel Avionics has announced that its new compact 3-ATI turbine-class EHSI, the SN3500, has received TSO approval and will commence deliveries in late May. The SN3500 features the same bright, wide-angle display technology found in the latest generation of aircraft, and provides true 180-degree viewability in both the horizontal and vertical axes. Boasting a high-reliability backlight, the SN3500's oversized display outperforms CRT and LCD screens in terms of brightness and contrast, yielding unprecedented readability and ease of use. An expandable system, the SN3500 can be upgraded with traffic, Stormscope© and WSI© datalink weather alerting capabilities for added functionality.

The SN3500 carries an introductory suggested retail price of $9,950 through the end of 2005. This special introductory price point was chosen to provide owners of Sandels previous-generation system, the SN3308, with a cost-effective upgrade. More than 4,000 SN3308 systems are currently in service.

"We're tremendously excited about the SN3500 because it helps us demonstrate how an affordable, self-contained system can provide a significant technology upgrade for a variety of aircraft applications," said Gerry Block, President and CEO of Sandel. "With its unmatched viewing angle, outstanding sunlight readability and excellent human factors, we think that dealers and customers alike will be pleased and impressed with the SN3500's performance."

Drawing on its significant HSI experience in general aviation, along with its recent success with Class A and Class B TAWS systems, Sandel has equipped the SN3500 with a 'smart' I/O module, making it an ideal drop-in replacement instrument for a wide range of digital and analog aircraft panels. Moreover, with Sandel's innovative packaging concepts, the 3-ATI SN3500 actually has as much screen area as a typical 4-ATI unit, enabling it to clearly present navigation and safety data on one display.
