NewsSandel Introduces Long-Life 4-in. EADI and EHSI Displays, Adds New Solid-State DG Product LineAdvanced LED displays offer unprecedented brightness and reliability, while the new DG products are both cost-effective and easy to installVista, CA, (April 19, 2006) -- Sandel Avionics announced the introduction of two new retrofit product lines at this year's 49th Annual AEA Convention and Trade Show, including the LED-powered, 4x4 SN4500 EHSI and SA4500* EADI, along with a series of new directional gyro (DG) products, the SG101, SG102 and SG103. The modular 4x4 primary displays are the first to feature light-emitting diode (LED) sources for Sandel's proprietary LightEngine display technology, providing an ultra-bright, high-resolution image and boasts an MTBF of 10,000+ hours. With their unmatched 180-degree viewing angles and high sunlight readability, the new SN4500 and SA4500* PDs serve as drop-in replacements for older electomechanical displays. These compact, modular units are self-contained, making them easy to install, and both units may be installed separately or in tandem; both feature SandelSmart I/O to interface with virtually any digital or analog aircraft. Retail pricing will be $19,500 for the SN4500 EHSI and $20,500 for the SA4500* EADI per unit. Sandel's new DG product line is built around the SG102 directional gyro, a solid-state unit that serves as a drop-in replacement for the old KG 102 spinning gyro. Its price will be approximately $3,500, making it an excellent alternative to an overhauled unit. The SG101 system offers XYZ, Arinc 429 and RS-232 outputs, and adds a new Sandel-designed sealed magnetometer for stabilized magnetic heading. The SG103 provides even greater flexibility, incorporating XYZ, Arinc 429 and RS-232 outputs while also offering compatibility with the KG 102. System prices for the SG101 and SG103 are expected to fall under $4,000. Sandel Avionics, located in Vista, California, is a privately held company that provides compact integrated display systems for general aviation, business aviation, air transport and regional aircraft. Enjoying significant success with its compact, self-contained ST3400 TAWS solution, the company is in the process of developing a series of innovative new display applications. *Update: As of May 17, 2006 the model number of the Sandel EADI has been changed to the SA4550 in order to avoid confusion with the SN4500 EHSI. |
