New Sandel SA4550 Certified by the FAA

Primary Attitude Display completes plug-compatible retrofit suite to replace older electromechanical displays for turbine-class aircraft

Vista, CA, (June 23, 2007) -- Sandel Avionics today announced that its advanced SA4550 Primary Attitude Display has been certified by the FAA for Part 23 and Part 25 operations (Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) No. ST01930LA), enabling the new high-reliability, TSO'd unit to be installed in corporate jets and turboprops. Ideal for retrofit installation in Cessna Citation, Falcon, Gulfstream, King Air, Beechjet and other aircraft models with 4-ATI and 5-ATI panel displays, the modular, LED-backlit SA4550 offers a technology upgrade for many turbine-powered aircraft with older electromechanical ADI displays. Paired with the already-certified Sandel SN4500 Primary Navigation Display, the SA4550 provides operators with a complete Primary Flight Display solution.

Production is underway, and the SA4550 is now available for installation by authorized Sandel dealers and installation centers in aircraft on the Approved Model List (AML). Details are available from Sandel representatives or online at www.sandel.com.

"This certification confirms that our easy-to-install, easy-to-use replacement displays will let corporate aircraft operators affordably update their old, unreliable ADIs and HSIs," said Sandel CEO Gerry Block. "The bottom line is that, with our new SA4550 and SN4500 incorporating incredible color and brightness, twice the resolution of many 'glass cockpits', and an innovative plug-compatible installation architecture, operators can get a superb technology upgrade without having to pay for a full-panel replacement," he noted.

Featuring patented display technology, the new LED (light-emitting diode)-backlit SA4550 features an easy-to-read display; unmatched operating life; full complement of ADI features; intuitive interface; and connectors compatible with legacy installations, so that only DC power needs to be added to support a wide range of digital and analog aircraft. The introductory retail price is $20,500.
