Argentine DNA Issues STC AML Approval for Over 50 Models of Business Aircraft
Vista, CA (August 12, 2008)—Sandel Avionics has announced that it has received a Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) and Approved Model List (AML) from the Argentine Dirección Nacional de Aeronavegabilidad (DNA) for installation of its SA4550 Primary Attitude and SN4500 Primary Navigation Displays in over 50 models of business aircraft, including several King Airs, Citations and Learjets. This approval allows operators of older business aircraft to upgrade the original electromechanical attitude indicators and HSIs with an affordable solid-state Primary Flight Display package.
"We thank the Argentine DNA for their cooperation and rapid STC approval of the SA4550 and SN4500," said Jerry Henry, Sandel's Director of Sales. "Operators in Argentina now have an affordable option to upgrade their legacy equipment to more reliable solid-state Primary Attitude and Navigation Displays."
Both the SA4550 and SN4500 are 4-ATI sized units which use Sandel's patented rear-projection display technology with LED-backlighting for maximum sunlight readability, 180-degree viewing angle, bright color rendition and an MTBF of over 10,000 hours. The SA4550 Primary Flight Display is available in several versions to replace many Sperry and Collins attitude indicators and a new version to replace the King KCI-310 began shipping in July. Each SA4550 version is plug compatible with the original indicator to minimize installation time and cost. The SN4500 Primary Navigation Display replaces the HSI with a full-color moving map that has the capability to show flight plans, bearing pointers, Stormscope™ and optional traffic.
The SA4550 and SN4500 are certified and available now from Sandel. List price for each display is US$20,950.
