Expanded Voltage Input Range Eliminates Need for External Voltage Converters
Vista, CA (July 24, 2008)—Sandel Avionics has announced that its popular SN3500 Primary Navigation Display will now be compatible with both 14- and 28-volt electrical systems, simplifying the installation process in many aircraft. Previously, installation of the SN3500 in aircraft with 14-volt electrical systems required the use of an external voltage converter.
"The SN3500 is the ultimate display solution for general aviation aircraft," said Jerry Henry, Sandel’s Director of Sales. “Many of these aircraft have 14-volt systems and this change means that owners don’t have to worry about the cost and weight of external voltage converters. And we’ve been able to make this change to the SN3500 without raising the price.”
Shipments of the SN3500 with 14/28 volt compatibility will begin in August, 2008. Pricing is unchanged at $10,990 for the standard SN3500. For a complete solid-state compass system, the SN3500 can be combined with Sandel's SG102 AHRS which is available at a price of $4,495 for the fixed wing piston aircraft version.
The SN3500 Primary Navigation Display is a 3-ATI sized electronic display that uses Sandel’s patented LED backlit projection system and has an MTBF of 10,000 hours. Featuring digital and analog inputs, the TSO-certified SN3500 is designed to interface with both old and new avionics, and supports the display of GPS vertical guidance from WAAS-certified receivers such as the Garmin™ GNS 400W/500W series.
Sandel Avionics is celebrating its 10th Anniversary and will be demonstrating its products in booths 2147 and 2148 at AirVenture 2008 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, July 28-August 3.
